Diarrhea, cholera, typhoid and children at risk being back on the streets. Urgent!

If it isn't hunger and starvation there are other things we doesn't have to worry about in our everyday lives. A toilet, a latrine, can be the difference between children being thrown out in the streets again or not.

Please read Wycliffes words:

"Pray for me.I have a need. Now 2 months because of these kids' needs have been able drill a toilet.Today, health officers came and they threatened to shut the orphanage center at the new land which was donated.Drilling toilets costs 350USD which we need to have by end month. It is urgent. If we have not complied then the kids will come back to my house gain and some will be back on the streets. There is a need!
Diarrhea, cholera and typhoid has been in full outbreak and with no latrines, before end month we shall have no otherwise...
It is our vision that the center is not closed because of hygiene and the deadline is fast...just 3 days to month end...when they come back they will find us digging a latrine..."

They need you. You can make a difference. Sign up for membership or donate.

Words and deeds

How will we think that day when we are in need? Will we expect others to help us? It makes me think about the following words that are head on.
Hur tänker vi den dagen vi själva är i nöd? Förväntar vi oss att andra skall hjälpa? Får mig att tänka på följande ord, som är rakt på sak:
"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them- Jesus
Hard to argue against.

Wanted - Digital Camera

Is there anyone out there who has a digital camera to donate and send?

I sent our "old" camera in Mars this year to Kisumu Kenay so that Wycliffe could document the orphans, meals, purchased item etc. All this to show that the money sent is going where it supposed to.

Unfortunately the camera's days are out. Wycliffe have tried to find someone who could fix it lowest cost possible.

I believe however that it would be easier just to send a new one.

The camera I sent was a Panasonic DMC LZ2.

The best thing to do would be to send a camera with the same type of memory card - SD/MMC. They do have that memory card type and I did also send a memory card reader for that format. I also sent 10 AA-batteries.

Is there anybody out there who has a camera and who can send it?

Email to Agaptivity at agaptivity@gmail.com and add camera in the subject field.

We will get back with adress info. The camera must be sent as Recommended to ensure that it arrives safely. More details on that in the email communication.

Hoping for an answer!

Contact established with a major charitable organization

Yesterday Agaptivity made contact with a major global charitabel organization regarding a cooperation for humanitarian shipment to Kisumu Kenya.

This organization says that provided that all fundamental details are legitimate they will cooperate. Thus this project is in a preparatory work face.

As soon as all fundamental details are set all information will be shared on both Agaptivity's website and Facebook page, and the workings for funding the shipment will start.

Agaptivity is looking forward to this.

From hunger to starvation

Starvation was there. Yet again….

Yesterday, Monday May 11th it was back. Starvation time again. Days with lack of food was turning into starvation. After having only one porridge meal per day for 7 days, flour porridge, the flower was all but gone. One meal left.

Flour porridge…. That is only... well, a small amount of energy, something to fill bellies with. No nutrion what so ever.

Let me share Wycliffe's words:

"As others through food in the dust bin out there a child i crying  for a leftover. When one is obese,a orphan is malnourished. Read Psalms 91 and encourage yourselves with me."
"When we had all orphans service and i was conducting psychological counseling, all tears were being shed when i mentioned to them that they will continue mission food because uncle Ted have nothing to send.Till now it has been a porridge in the morning only no lunch or dinner and this flour will ran out this evening."
"For the past 7 days it has been porridge only with no nutrients added. Now the flour is over this evening. That means as we wake up tomorrow it will be dry lack with total lack for food for the 64 orphans until one of our donors and friends will come to our aid.How i wish leftover foods can be collected and be sent."

I saw to that they could have 68 dollars. Saved by the bell again. My ability to to aid has now reached its absolute limit. They, the orphans in Kisumu Kenya, now need aid from more people - they need your aid.

I'm glad I shared these words from Wycliffe on Facebook yesterday. As a result Agaptivity got two new members and one donation. My wish is that we will have more members so we can avoid coming to the point of starvation again.

On behalf of the Kisumu Orphans - a big and warm thank you to all three. Agaptivity also thank you - it is you, members and donors, who make all this possible. Agaptivity is nothing, just a middle hand between the ones of importance, the donors and the receivers.

However the orphans need more people who aid.

They know, Agaptivity know, that everybody can make a difference. You can make a difference. About $19.50 is just about what it takes to get food and sanitary items for 68 individuals for one day. THAT little  can make THAT kind of differnce.

You can make a difference - Join us YOU too.

Do you walk with the broken?

"How we walk with the broken speaks louder than how we sit with the great."

Do you trust us? Do you trust Agaptivity?

Do you trust Agaptivity?

It is our effort and aim sending as much means as possible to the needy in Kisumu Kenya.

It is also our effort and aim to document all money flow. Both from Agaptivity's end and from Kenya's end. We want to show you all expenses and costs for the organisation and where the means are going. It will all be displayed in public spreadsheets and copies of all receipts. We beg of your patience for building all this up.

From Agaptivity's end you will find the documentation here. Here you will see the organisations economic flow from the start. The spreadsheet is to be found under the Documentation tab.

Agaptivity is a registered company with a Company Registration Number (802494-5332). The rules are freeing us from bookkeeping and annual statements. The limit is at about $179.000. However, we will be bookkeeping and giving out annual statements to show that all our workings are honest and legitimate.

Not a dime is going to the admins of the organisation. We are doing all this on a voluntarily basis and aim at keeping it at that as long as it is possible. All members of the Board are also members of Agaptivity. All are paying membership contributions and some have also donated money upon that. The input from the members of the Board is high, not only in money but also in time building the organisation up with all documentation and webpages.

It is our aim in keeping all costs at a minimum. Our expenses so far is two domain names. Cost $17.75

The only costs are really transfer fees and this is more or less unavoidable. When we get a more steady flow of means we will be able to send money directly to a bank account in Kenya (if the fees are preferable that is). As it is now the only option have been using Western Union. The situation is forcing us to use urgent methods.

The more members and donors we get, the better things will be. It will make our ability to be more effective economically and start working against the bigger goals.

Join us. Sign up. You too can make a difference.
