Awino wants out from her imprisonment at the hospital

Read this and be touched. Got this from Wycliffe today:

Uncle, today i have been in the hospital from 10am then the child Awino asked me somthing that left me so emotional. She asked me "Baba, Can Uncle Ted help me get out of this bed so that even if we will not be eating at the center i will be home? have you talked to Uncle? what is he saying?....baba,today i am tired of this hospital and miss my brothers and sisters". i told her(Awino) that dont worry, you are soon going to be out here....then she smiled and said i hope tomorrow if not today.
Uncle, This message is like a huge load that i had to pass to you. Lets pray that God in Heaven will hear our cries and wipe tears of this precious child. God bless you. Here it is 8pm and is when am back...my wife now is going to be with her from 9pm till tomorrow morning when we shall exchange swifts. Bye. Agape love!
See previous posts for more info on Awinos situation and the orphans situation in general. Their situation is complicated to say the least.

Orphan imprisoned at the hospital!

I am dismayed. Dismayed and deeply concerned. Dismayed and concerned for being powerless over the state of things.

In previous posts I've informed about 11 year old Awino ending up in coma, hospitalized after being hit by a motorcycle. Awino is now out of the coma and well enough to get back home. So far so good...

However - Awino is not allowed to get home. She will not be released until the hospital bill is payed! The bill is getting bigger by the day!! This clearly violates human rights. She's only 11 years old....poor girl....

This is insane and evil. She's stuck there, locked up. Crazy in itself. But also consider the risks! TB, cholera, skin infections etc....

The cost is getting bigger by the day.....

Imagine how Awino is feeling right now?! Imagine how the other orphans is feeling?! Imagine how Wycliffe's doing.....?! There's many tears being shed these days.....

So, what's needed?

The total debt to the hospital is right now: $217 (22,858 Kenyan shilling)

>>>The debt is increasing with $24 per day!!!
Debts for medication: $74 (7,800 Kenyan shilling)

Thus, we have a total debt of $291. Tomorrow we have to add another $24

The debt equals food and sanitary items for them all, 72 individuals, for 14 days!!!
The debt increase is food and sanitary items for yet another day....

And that is were we are too. They are without food. The small amount sent Friday was enough for two days.....

What can you do? Can you do something? Well, even the smallest of amounts will help, it will make a difference. You can make a difference.

Join and liberate 11 year old Awino from her imprisonment. Let her be among the kids and Wycliffe again and shed tears of joy instead of weeping at the hospital. You can make all this possible.

Helo them. Become a member or donate money.

W - Awino is still in hospital till we pay the bill which the facility need...she is inprisoned and also in pain and more dangerous she can attract other diseases like TB,neamonia, cholera and skin inffections this worries me so much...we had discharge note 3 days ago,she keep on crying even today asking me when she will get out of hospital with bandages on her neck and hands.
T - That is really crazy! Evil. You did pay afterwards before, right? That shouldn't be a problem now.... This violates the human rights by UN! Go viral with it!
T - What if we never are to get money?! Will she stay there till she gets old?
W - That is what should happen...after paying all bills,we go home.
T - Contact that governmental person you know.
W - He is in London for UN meeting if we will not get the money i will plead with him but i dont know when they will be back. But if we get money sooner the better Awino will be out of hospital
T - OK.... This is stressful. Let me go ahead and make some posts. Pray it will affect people! Talk to you later! Shalom!
W - May God bless you.
T - Wycliffe: Please update me! What are the costs/debts now?Hospital bill?  Is there any debts for medicine? Is the bill getting higher by the day or?
W - Total cost now which includes bed and treatment:22,858 Kshs. We had dept also of medicines at the local chemistry here totaling 7800 Kshs. This bill is getting higher daily by day as days change
T - OK. What amount per day is the cost going up?
W - The figure i have given you is as for today. It goes high daily by day at 2,500 Kshs.
T - 2,500 per day?! Really? All this money could be for food instead...
W - Yes...this can be of food for other orphans...instead
T - 2,500 up per day? Yes?
W - Yes
T - Shit!
T - OK, thanks. I will add the numbers...
W - This has been stress for me more and even heartbreaking.

Day 5 without food.....

Today it's their fifth day without food....

The fifth day. 5 days without food....

We in the west jump on different diets, fasting and so on just to get in shape to look good and so on. How different things are! There are those who are unable to even imagine something like that. Being without food is everyday life for some.

You can chose to be on a diet or not. They can't chose that. You can chose to help.

Yesterday Agaptivity received about 24 dollars, that money will be sent tonight. This will however only be enough for one day....

It doesn't have to be like this. With very small fundings each of us can - together - make real difference.

Join and make a difference.

(Wycliffe's words down below.)

Agaptivity and the orphans hope for you aid.

When was the last time you were without food for three days?

When was the last time you were without food for three days, or more.....?

NO, I am not talking about fasting or being on one a 5:2 diet etc. I'm talking about you having no food at all. I'm talking about agonizing hunger, I'm talking about starvation.

We hardly starve now, do we?

We don't have to. There are those who do, those who cannot chose. We can chose. We can also chose to help. As little as about $20 is enough for one day - for 72 people!

So, can you make a difference here?

Of course you can.

Will you?

That is your choice. I hope you will, Agaptivity hope you will and the orphans in Kisumu hope you will.

You will find all info on how to help on this webpage.

Your aid is needed. Now. Please help. And make a difference.

Today, while working, I received a message from Wycliffe. However, I couldn't read it or do anything, busy working. And Agaptivity have no funds availble and I have no ability any more to step in and help out - I have reached my limit for that.... Today there was an urgent need for about 74 dollars for medince. As mentioned before there is also a bill for hospital costs due to one of the orphans being injured after being hit by a motorcycle. Also they have not been without food for three days...

 >> Three days without food! <<

Think about it, 68 dollars is enough for them - 72 people - to cover food and sanitary items for three days.

What does that mean?

It means that we really can make a difference. Not that many people contributing with a small amount could guarantee their basic need. Remember that because there are those who contribute with more others can contribute with less. Big or small, more or less - ALL makes the difference! A small sacrifice from us could be the difference between life and death for them.

Sign up for membership or donate money. Help. You can make a differnce. Do it.

(Down below excerpts from todays messages from Wycliffe and our dialogue this evening.)

We hope for and look forward to your aid.

P.S. Awino is out of the coma but still in a very bad shape. D.S.

If your heart's been breaking

"If your heart’s been breaking". Yes, that's the first line in a post shared by Wycliffe on Agaptivity's Facebook page. Let me share all of it:

Dear Agaptivity,
If your heart’s been breaking this week after seeing postings facing orphans that Agaptivity support, you’re not alone. More importantly, though,
You’re not without the power to help!
Since the orphans work started work in Kisumu, Kenya through Wycliffe’s burden and Bro.Ted considered to pioneer the idea of Agaptivity.69 orphans have been clothed, fed, educated, medication provided, toilteries and sanitary pads bought and even educational writing plus reading materials provided, clean and safe water provided. Making it the largest Agaptivity work doing in Kenya with such a great support of yours.
The death of parents as a result of HIV and Aids is not easy, orphans have faced challenges of hunger, living in dangerous condition with no blankets in this raining season, often deadly journey of orphans life in search of a safe haven in this world is; overcrowded sleeping room where basic necessities like water, shelter, and food are not there now for 16 days; These kids need opportunities to eat and sleep just like the rest of the world’s kids.
What you can do today is to donate to orphans of Agaptivity in Kisumu, Kenya and this is our appeal. The crisis has escalated; we can’t keep up. Without your monthly donations and help.
As always, when you show your support in times that orphans are in need, you’ll receive regular updates about the important work that your donation is funding and the impact it’s having for those in need.
Thank you for your generosity,
Wycliffe.

If you are moved by this and want to make a difference, want to help then do it - make a difference and help. Your help is invaluable.

Orphan in accident. Condition critical.

One of the orphans was sadly in an accident. She got hit by a motorcycle. The condition is very critical, Awino, only 11 years, is now hospitalized in choma.

In the midst of all this all money is gone, there's no food and Wycliffe's wife, who also is one of the caretaker of the orphans, is pregnant, seven months in, with all the tiredness and sickness involved. Wycliffe and Jemimah usually take turns in the work but the pregnancy doesn't really help. Therefore one of the older kids are now staying with Aniwo at the hospital.

I asked how much all this will cost and Wycliffe understood it would be about $168. THAT is much in this context, that money would give food for 72 people for about 9-10 days.

Thus we beg you, again, for your help. We need more members and donors, donors and sponsors.

A thing like this is tragic and an upheaval in itself - a kid hurt and in a critical condition. But then, also, due to the context/circumstances this will have devastating consequences if they don't get help.

Please, join and make a difference. Support Agaptivity. Become a member or/and donate.

We are hoping for YOUE aid.

Uncle,we have just worken up with a sad news that we didnt expect that one of the orphans was hit this morning with a motobike and Awino is on a serious condition.Jemimah have rushed to provincial hospital the phone call just is is that Awino is in ICU and medication needed.I have to end here and rush because Jemimah too have been sick and tired of pregnancy....i'll update you...pray...
the situation is no that good.Awino is in coma in ICU at the provincial hospital...support in prayers and bills support urgently needed.
We have left one of the youths with the child,i am back home to see at the center what others(orphans)might eat,Jemimah on the other hand is on her last days of pregnancy and feels heavy.
We have NOTHING in our pocket when this situation happened. Not even food for the orphans at the center and so hope and courage is our strength.
So far the bill is not yet out but as for today i have been told 13,800 Kshs so the bill will keep on going daily by day...I have been also advised by one doctor to transfer the child to a better facility as doctors were on go slow duty....seems strike was in the offering.

I am thinking for the life of the child if we get some help i will  consider transferring the child because trainees were the people whom this morning were handling her and i was not very happy seeing that.In the morning the doctors who served us was really very good.

A message from the orphans guardian and care taker

A message from Wycliffe, the orphans guardian and care taker.

Dear Agaptivity,
If your heart’s been breaking this week after seeing postings facing orphans that Agaptivity support, you’re not alone. More importantly, though,
You’re not without the power to help!

Life's tough. Again..... You can help.

There's great need again. No funds available. Agaptivity is waiting for membership contributions to drop in. The thing is however, we need more members and more donors. Our hope goes out with this message to anyone who reads this. As little as about $70 can provide food and sanitary items for 70 persons for three days! Yes, that little can do that much. Thus you too can make a difference - make a difference.

An excerpt from today's talk with Wycliffe:
- Uncle, kids ask me when they will get a meal....i tell then, good meal is this week once Uncle sends food money.
- When money comes in I can send. When....
- It is very cold here and Elnino rains creating havok....we have nothing as i write..
OK. I will post and update.
- There is need of blankets, anti malaria medications, chlorine and food. May Go bless uou Uncle.Greet all for us,we miss u.
- Ok. Will copy and paste your words! God bless you too!
- Shalom! The needs we have are urgent....that needs support as God enables.
There's one thing that always strikes me when talking to Wycliffe, to hear what he says and what the orphans says. Never have he or the kids been doubting what they believe. It is always "God is great" and "God enables" etc. Strangely it us, us in the west who question the existence of a God or lash out against God and religion in the name of injustice etc. We should be grateful, grateful for what do have and grateful for having the opportunity to help others, for that we can do.

If you find it your heart, please help. You can help by becoming a member or donate.

Kind regards
